Court Witness Nurses who are subpoenaed or requested by the Medical Center to appear as a witness in a court case during their normal time off duty will be compensated for the time spent in connection with such an appearance in accordance with the applicable rate of pay. The court witness pay will be assigned to the Medical Center.
Jury or Witness Duty An employee who is not a party to the action and who is absent in compliance with a summons for jury duty or a subpoena requiring the employee to appear in court as a witness shall be excused with pay for the period during which the employee is absent on scheduled days because of such jury service or court appearance. When an employee is excused from jury or witness duty for part of a day or for an entire day, the employee shall report to his or her supervisor in person or by telephone for an assignment.

Jury or Witness Leave The Employer shall grant Leave of Absence without loss of seniority to an Employee who is required to serve as a juror or who is subpoenaed to serve as a witness in Court. The Employer shall pay such an Employee their normal earnings. The payment they receive for service as a juror or as a witness, excluding payment for travel, meals, or other expenses, will be returned to the Employer. The Employee will present proof of service to the Employer, along with copies of payment for services they receive as a juror or as a witness.
and Witness If an employee is requested to serve as a juror in any court of law or is required by subpoena to attend as a witness in a court proceeding in which the Crown is a party, or is required to attend a coroner's inquest in connection with a case concerning the Hospital, the employee shall not lose regular pay because of necessary absence from work due to such attendance, and shall not be required to work on the day of such duty, provided that the employee:

Subpoenaed Witness For each day that the employee is compensated by the Crown, the employee shall be compensated by the Employer at $50.00 per day and by the Union at $50.00 per day up to a maximum of 4 calendar weeks or 20 working days. Proof of payment by the Crown shall be presented to the Employer and to the Union.
Witness or Jury Duty Employees called to serve on juries or to obey a subpoena shall receive their regular salaries during such periods, less the fees received for such service provided the employee returns to work if they are released from jury duty prior to 1:00 p.m. An employee serving on a jury will not be assigned to work on evenings or weekends during such jury service.
Grievance Witnesses The District shall make available for testimony in connection with the grievance procedure any District employees whose appearance is requested by the grievant. Any employee witnesses required to appear in connection with this article shall be granted District Authorized Leave to present their testimony and shall suffer no loss of pay during the time required for testimony.
