Common use of JURISDICTION AND AUTHORITY Clause in Contracts

JURISDICTION AND AUTHORITY. (i) Subject to the jurisdiction vested in an arbitrator or Arbitration Board under Part 8 of the Labour Relations Code of B.C., the Arbitrator shall have jurisdiction and authority to interpret and apply the provisions of this Agreement insofar as it may be necessary to the determination of the grievance referred to him/her. He/she shall not have the jurisdiction to alter, amend, add to or delete from any of the provisions of this Agreement, or make any decision which is inconsistent with the provisions of this Agreement;

He/she shall not have the jurisdiction to alter, amend, add to or delete from any of the provisions of this Agreement, or make any decision which is inconsistent with the provisions of this Agreement;
