Newly hired employees will normally be placed at the first step of the salary range. At the Sheriff’s discretion the employee may be placed at a higher wage step based on the level of professional experience possessed by the individual. The new hire will also be provided with the level of vacation entitlement based on professional experience possessed. Seniority will be in accordance with Article 9 of the current collective bargaining agreement.
