Common use of JOB CLASSIFICATION AND RECLASSIFICATION Clause in Contracts

JOB CLASSIFICATION AND RECLASSIFICATION. ‌ The parties shall be bound by the terms and conditions of the Joint Job Evaluation Program and the Maintenance Program as mutually agreed between the parties. When a position reclassification or re-evaluation results in a lower pay grade, the incumbent in the position will be “red-circled” at their current rate of pay until such time as the general wage increases raise the rate of pay to the level received; following which, the incumbent will be entitled to pay increases. Further, it is agreed that in a layoff situation, the incumbent will maintain the bumping and recall privileges of the higher (red-circled) grade level.
