Job Abandonment. (a) If a faculty member Faculty Member is absent without authorized leave and fails to meet their assigned duties for twelve (12) or more seven consecutive work days, the faculty member Faculty Member will be considered to have abandoned the position and voluntarily resigned from the University. Notwithstanding paragraph (a), above, if the Faculty Member’s absence is for reasons beyond the Faculty Member’s control and the Faculty Member notifies the University as soon as practicable, the Faculty Member will not be considered to have abandoned the position.
