Common use of Interpretation of the Contract Documents Clause in Contracts

Interpretation of the Contract Documents. 2.8.1 The Design Professional shall be, in the first instance, the interpreter of the design requirements of the Contract Documents and the judge of the performance thereunder. Design Professional shall render design interpretations of, and design decisions regarding, the Construction Contract Documents that are necessary for the proper execution or progress of the Work including provision of clarifications and interpretations of the Construction Contract Documents that are consistent with the intent of the documents but which do not involve a change in the scope of the Work. Such clarifications and interpretations shall not involve an adjustment of the Contract Sum or an extension of the Contract Time.
