Common use of Interpretation committee Clause in Contracts

Interpretation committee. 40-1 In the event that there is a dispute as to the interpretation of any Article/Section of this Agreement, an Interpretation Committee will be formed. The purpose of the committee is to reach a conclusion as to the intent and interpretation of the Article/Section in question. The committee will be composed of six (6) members, selected by the District and the Association, consisting of three (3) representatives of the District to include the Director of Employee-Management Relations or designee, the Chief of Police or designee and one (1) additional District designee; three (3) representatives of the Association to include an Executive Board Member and two (2) Association members. By agreement of the parties, this committee may be facilitated by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
