Internship Objectives. What do you wish to learn? What skills or concepts do you wish to master? Does the internship lead toward more advanced studies or toward a professional career? These objectives should be stated in a way that they may be evaluated at the internship’s conclusion. It might be helpful to keep in mind the overall objectives for any internship: • Provide an opportunity for an exploratory professional experience in a ‘working environment’ and for application of skill learned in the university setting; • Provide understanding and appreciation of the social and institutional milieu within which environmental issues must be addressed; and • Result in academic progression beyond the student’s previous academic achievement.
Internship Objectives. The integrated internships aim to introduce the Student to independent professional activity in the field of social work and guarantee a critical reflection on the knowledge acquired at the University and in the internships under the conditions of supervised practical work. They particularly aim to provide candidates with the skills required to use both scientific findings and professional knowledge in their chosen profession and to incorporate the knowledge acquired during their internships into their professional, supervisory and academic discourse. The occupational role should be reflected in the area of conflict between their professional self-image, societal function and the circumstances of the subjects of the social work. The internship should also provide a transparent insight into the structural and institutional connections between social exclusion and participation in practical social work. The practical challenge of the internship is to develop a professional and reflective approach to handling the ambivalences, contradictions and conflicts of interest involved in practical social work.

Internship Objectives. 2.1. The internship will enable the Student to develop their engineering skills and practice. Students will be placed in industry, working full-time and assessed for academic credit as outlined in more detail below. The curriculum, that is the content and learning processes, will be defined by the work, and internships will be offered (as far as possible, and when available) in areas that match the aims and content of the ANU College and Engineering and Computer Science bachelor programs.
