To provide an intellectual atmosphere that includes access to the Internet, Johannesburg-Lewiston School believes that all teachers should have the opportunity to develop skills in using computer technology. Having access to the Internet will allow the teacher to access and use the Internet to transmit material, which is consistent with the educational goals of the school district, as well as allow the teacher to access and transmit appropriate material to be used in the educational environment.

Internet Acceptable Use Agreement. Bundarra Primary School believes the teaching of cyber-safety and responsible online behaviours is essential and is best taught in partnership between home and school. To be safe, students need to do the right thing by themselves and others – especially when they are not being monitored. Safe and responsible behaviour is explicitly taught at our school and parents/carers are requested to reinforce this behaviour at home. This agreement applies to student’s online behaviour both at school and at home. Some online activities and behaviours are illegal and as such will be reported to police. Part A – School support for the safe and responsible use of digital technologies. At Bundarra Primary School we: • Have polices in place that outline the values of the school and expected behaviours when students use digital technologies and the internet. • Provide a filtered internet service. • Provide supervision and direction for students when using digital technologies online. • Support students in developing digital literacy skills. • Teach a cyber-safety program which is reinforced across the school. • Use mobile technologies only for educational purposes. • Provide support to parents/cares through information evenings and through the document attached to this agreement for parents to keep at home. Part BStudent Agreement. Safe and Responsible Behaviour. When I/we use digital technologies I communicate respectfully by thinking and checking that what I write or post is kind and respectful. This means I: • Never send mean or bullying messages or pass them on, as this makes me part of the bullying. • Don’t use actions online to be mean to others or spread gossip and rumours. • Don’t copy someone else’s work or ideas from the internet and present them as my own. • Use social networking sites for educational purposes and only with permission and direction by the teachers or parents/carers. • Never use anyone’s photo or video without their explicit consent. When I use digital technologies I protect personal information by being aware that my full name, photo, birthday, address and phone number is personal information and not to be shared online. Internet Acceptable Use Agreement. Netcong Elementary School makes no warranties of any kind, whether expressed or implied, for the service it is providing. Netcong Elementary School will not be responsible for any damages users suffer. This includes loss of data resulting from delays, non-deliveries, missed deliveries, or service interruptions caused by its own negligence or your errors or omissions. Use of any information obtained via the Internet is at your own risk. Netcong Elementary School specifically denies any responsibility for the accuracy or quality of information obtained through these services. Security - security on any computer system is a high priority, especially when the system involves many users. If you feel you can identify a security problem on the Internet, you must notify a Building Administrator. Do not demonstrate the problem to other users. Do not use another individual’s account without written permission from that individual. User attempts to log on to the Internet using someone else’s password, or as a system administrator may result in cancellation of user privileges.
