Common use of Insurance Continuation Clause in Contracts

Insurance Continuation. The Board shall continue to pay the Board contribution necessary to continue all medical, dental, and life insurance plans for the employee while he/she is on leave under this article. In the event a bargaining unit member elects not to return to work upon completion of an approved unpaid leave of absence, the employer may recover from the employee the costs of any payments made to maintain the employee’s insurance coverage, unless the failure to return to work was due to continuation, recurrence or onset of a serious health condition or for reasons beyond the employee’s control.
