Informal Grievance Procedure. The employee shall initiate the grievance process by an informal meeting and discussion with his or her supervisor. Every effort shall be made to resolve a grievance through discussion between the employee, and/or the employee's designated representative, and the employee's immediate supervisor. If, after such discussion, the employee does not feel that the grievance has been satisfactorily resolved, the employee shall have the right to discuss the matter with the supervisor's superior, if any, within the department organization. Otherwise, the employee shall have the right to discuss the matter with the department head.
