Each bargaining unit member shall have the right to review the contents of their personnel file; they shall have the right to have a union representative accompany them in such review. All such reviews shall be made in the presence of the Superintendent or their designee. Confidential credentials from universities normally sought at the time of employment are specifically exempt from such reviews. A bargaining unit member shall be permitted to reproduce any material in their file which is not confidential.

Employees shall be permitted to reproduce any material in their file. Copies of all evaluative material placed in the employee's file shall be provided to the employee. Paraprofessionals must meet the criteria set forth in applicable state and federal laws in terms of education, qualification, experience, etc. Paraprofessionals are required to follow the collective bargaining agreement between the East Detroit Board of Education and the East Detroit Federation of Teachers.

  • GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS The District has empowered school communities to make decisions at the school level in return for accountability for results.
