Individual Professional Development. The Board shall provide individual professional development funding each Academic Year as follows:

Individual Professional Development. Teachers will determine how to improve their own professional knowledge, expertise, and growth. These efforts should relate to goals specified in the teachers' Individual Professional Development Plans (IPDP), which is used for certification and licensure renewal/upgrade.
Individual Professional Development. Individual professional development is defined as education, training, or the acquisition of knowledge related to the actively employed adjunct faculty member’s teaching discipline. Funding may be used for subscriptions, journals, books, computer software and supplies, video/audio recordings, periodicals, publications, memberships, and/or workshops/conferences appropriately related to the academic discipline in which the adjunct teaches. Adjuncts shall be eligible to request expenditure of funds up to a maximum of one hundred twenty five ($125) dollars each budget year, if the adjunct has taught during either the Fall or Spring semester. Funding not encumbered or expended by June 30th of each budget year is lost. Approved expenses incurred for travel, mileage, meals, and/or lodging shall be reimbursed in accordance with the prevailing business policies of the College. All requests for individual professional development funds will require the prior approval or disapproval of the Department Xxxx and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Individual professional development funding shall not be used to purchase equipment, nor shall these funds be used to purchase supplies which are available through routine college purchasing processes. Adjuncts shall be eligible to request expenditure of funds up to a maximum of seventy-five ($75.00) dollars each budget year, if the adjunct has taught during either the Fall or Spring semester. Funding not encumbered or expended by June 30th of each budget year is lost. Approved expenses incurred for travel, mileage, meals, and/or lodging shall be reimbursed in accordance with the prevailing business policies of the College. All computer software purchase requests must be submitted to the Information Technology Office for logging. Upon receipt, all software will be delivered to Information Technology for virus screening All requests for individual professional development funds will require the prior approval or disapproval of the Department Xxxx and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Individual Professional Development. The district will fund each individual professional development plan to a maximum of $1,600 per year. Funds may accumulate for the life of this agreement. When the district offers training and/or leadership activities, the district will apply for clock hour approval. Any funds left on April 1 in the last year of the contract cycle will be pooled to be used for professional development, including group attendance at trainings. These funds must be expended by June 30 of that year.
Individual Professional Development activities must qualify as Professional Development by meeting the State definition for Professional Development and be in concert with the District Educational Plan. These activities must be agreed to by the teacher’s principal or be recommended by the Joint Council for Professional Development and are intended to meet the individual Professional Development needs of the teacher. Personal Leave will not be granted in lieu of Individual Professional Development.

Individual Professional Development. This area includes individually determined professional growth activities that are often oriented to a particular subject area. They can be from school improvement plans, but do not replace them. They are the items that have been traditionally identified/prioritized by the individual together with their supervisor and included in the IDP. They will usually be linked to district or building School Improvement Plan priorities and should be linked to newly identified educator skills and are focused toward increased student success.
