Indirect Rate Clause Examples

The Indirect Rate clause defines how indirect costs—such as overhead, administrative expenses, or other non-direct project costs—are calculated and applied to a contract. Typically, this clause specifies the percentage or formula used to allocate these costs to billable items, and may outline the documentation or approval process required for rate changes. Its core function is to ensure transparency and consistency in the allocation of indirect costs, preventing disputes and clarifying financial responsibilities between the parties.
