Impact test. The test according to this paragraph is not to be carried out for devices integrated in the bodywork of the vehicle and providing a frontal deflecting area of an angle not more than 45° measured in relation to the longitudinal median plane of the vehicle, or devices not protruding more than 100 mm measured beyond the circumscribing bodywork of the vehicle according to Regulation No. 26.

Impact test steel cylinders and steel liners The impact test shall be carried out on the material taken from the cylindrical part of the finished cylinder on three test pieces in accordance with ISO 148. The impact test pieces shall be taken in the direction as required in table 6.2 of Annex 3 from the wall of the cylinder. For cylinders with welded stainless steel liners, impact tests shall be also carried out on material taken from the weld in accordance with the method described in paragraph 8.6. of EN 13322-2. The notch shall be perpendicular to the face of the cylinder wall. For longitudinal tests the test piece shall be machined all over (on six faces), if the wall thickness does not permit a final test piece width of 10 mm, the width shall be as near as practicable to the nominal thickness of the cylinder wall. The test pieces taken in transverse direction shall be machined on four faces only, the inner and outer face of the cylinder wall unmachined.
Impact test. The impact properties of welded steel in the inner vessel shall be tested in accordance with EN 1251-2:2000 and EN 10045-1:1990.

Impact test. RESULTS: 26 of the 43 tested samples did not pass the impact test. It may be noted that the bathtubs that did not meet this test were manufactured from less flexible plastic materials (refer to Figure 8). This test was carried out first according to 5.11.3 of EN 12221-2 (ten times at the same point in the centre of the bathtub bottom) and afterwards according to 5.5 of XP S 54-044. In this standard 10 points are distributed on the bottom of the bathtub with 10 impacts on each point. One of the impact points was at the centre of the bathtub (tested according to EN 12221-2). Impact test. 10.1 Use a hammer or impact device coupled with a suitable backing block to support the article to be tested to deform the sample. Reproducible results am more easily obtained by the use of a suitably modified impact tester where the force is reproducible and the impact head contour is in the form of a 5-mm diameter ball, shock loaded by a failing weight or swinging pendulum weight. The severity of the test may be altered by changing the load and diameter of the ball. Exfoliation or blisters in and around indentations are evidence of inadequate adhesion.
