Illness and Death. Teachers may be absent from regular duties because of personal illness or injury. In case of illness or death, all persons listed in the definition below for “immediate family” of the teacher shall be valid reasons for the use of sick leave by that teacher. “Immediate family” shall be interpreted to include father, mother, step-parents, brother, sister, husband, wife, child (includes step-children and xxxxxx children), domestic partner, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparent, uncle, aunt, and xxxxxxxxxx.

Illness and Death. Teachers may use sick leave in accordance with the provisions of Section 3319.141 of the Ohio Revised Code for absence due to personal illness, pregnancy, injury, exposure to contagious disease which could be communicated to others, and for absence due to illness, injury or death in the teacher’s immediate family or death of another relative.
Illness and Death. In the event of a life-threatening illness or the death of a family member in the first or second degree: five (5) working days and two (2) additional travel days. The trip will be reimbursed by the Netherlands Red Cross, subject to a maximum of one flight per 12-month period.

  • ILLNESS AND DISABILITY 8.0 At the beginning of each school year each teacher shall be credited with ten (10) days of leave, the unused portion of which shall accumulate from year to year to one hundred fifty-five (155) days pro-rated based on the teacher’s regularly scheduled work day/week. The leave days may be taken by a teacher for the following reasons and subject to the following conditions:

  • Personal Illness or Disability The bargaining unit member may use all or any portion of his leave to recover from his/her own illness or disability.

  • Parental and Pregnancy Disability Leave A. Parental leave will be granted to the employee for the purpose of bonding with their newborn, adoptive or xxxxxx child. Parental leave may extend up to six (6) months, including time covered by the family medical leave, during the first year after the child's birth or placement. Leave beyond the period covered by family medical leave and pregnancy disability may only be denied by the Employer due to operational necessity. Such denial may be grieved beginning at the top internal step of the grievance procedure in Article 30.

  • Illness or Disability If, because of Employee’s illness or other disability for a continuous period of more than 45 days, Employee is unable to render the services required by the Company as provided herein, the Company may terminate Employee’s employment hereunder by written notice to Employee at least 30 days in advance of such termination. Upon such termination Employee shall not be entitled to any further payments of any nature, except for payment of (a) any earned but unpaid Annual Base Salary, (b) any unpaid bonuses and (c) unreimbursed business expenses (collectively, “Payable Amounts”). All Payable Amounts shall become due and payable on the date of such termination.

  • Maternity Disability Leave 14.1.13.1 This leave commences with the onset of disablement due to pregnancy. The employee may claim sick leave pay and/or extended disability pay for no more than that limited period of time when the employee’s physician certified in writing on the form provided by the District that she was actually physically disabled from performing her duties because of pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, or recovery there from.

  • Employment of Disabled Workers The Union and the Employer acknowledge their obligations to accommodate certain individuals under the Human Rights Code of Ontario and agrees that this Collective Agreement will be interpreted in such a way as to permit those obligations to be discharged.

  • Pregnancy Disability Leave A. Leave for pregnancy or childbirth related disability is in addition to any leave granted under FMLA or WFLA.

  • Extended Disability Leave a. Due to a medical disability, an employee shall be granted an extended leave of absence without pay (subject to Paragraph d hereof) if any one of the following conditions exists:

  • Disability Leave of Absence Section 37.1 Leave Without Pay A member incurring any disability not duty-connected after he has exhausted all of the paid leave to which he is entitled and has accumulated, may be granted a leave without pay for a period not to exceed three (3) months, subject to approval and to the following provisions:

  • Death or Disability The Executive's employment shall terminate automatically upon the Executive's death during the Employment Period. If the Company determines in good faith that the Disability of the Executive has occurred during the Employment Period (pursuant to the definition of Disability set forth below), it may give to the Executive written notice in accordance with Section 12(b) of this Agreement of its intention to terminate the Executive's employment. In such event, the Executive's employment with the Company shall terminate effective on the 30th day after receipt of such notice by the Executive (the "Disability Effective Date"), provided that, within the 30 days after such receipt, the Executive shall not have returned to full-time performance of the Executive's duties. For purposes of this Agreement, "Disability" shall mean the absence of the Executive from the Executive's duties with the Company on a full-time basis for 180 consecutive business days as a result of incapacity due to mental or physical illness which is determined to be total and permanent by a physician selected by the Company or its insurers and acceptable to the Executive or the Executive's legal representative.
