Hospitalization of Newborn. A teacher who has recovered from delivery but whose child is hospitalized may interrupt her pregnancy leave by returning to work without the loss of her right to resume the leave.

Hospitalization of Newborn. 22.09 A Teacher whose newborn or newly adopted child is hospitalized within the first month of the child being born or coming into the care, custody and control of the parent for the first time may, on one occasion, interrupt her or his statutory pregnancy or parental leave by returning to work without the loss of right to resume the leave. Absence Due To Birth or Adoption 22.10 For absence occasioned by the birth or adoption of a son or daughter, a Teacher who is not eligible for pregnancy leave shall be granted, upon written request, a leave of absence without loss of salary for a period not exceeding two (2) days. This leave shall not be deducted from the Member’s sick leave credit account.

  • Coverage for Members Who Are Hospitalized on Their Effective Date If you are in the hospital on your effective date of coverage, healthcare services related to such hospitalization are covered as long as: (a) you notify us of your hospitalization within forty-eight (48) hours of the effective date, or as soon as is reasonably possible; and (b) covered healthcare services are received in accordance with the terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations of this agreement. As always, benefits paid in such situations are subject to the Coordination of Benefits provisions.

  • Health and Dental Coverage A dependent child is an eligible employee’s child to age twenty-six (26).

  • Leave for Medical and Dental Care (a) Where it is not possible to schedule medical and/or dental appointments outside regularly scheduled working hours, reasonable time off for medical and dental appointments for employees shall be permitted, if the Employer is notified at the time the appointment is made. Where any such absence exceeds two (2) hours, the full-time absence shall be charged to the entitlement described in Article 20.13.

  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA a. Pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA, as amended, an employee with more than one (1) year of experience, and who works at least 1250 hours per year, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence, of up to twelve (12) weeks, during a twelve (12) month period, for one or more of the following:

  • Dental specific medications for dental purposes, including fluoride medications (except for children less than five years of age with a non-fluorinated water supply);

  • Orientation and In-Service Program The Hospital recognizes the need for a Hospital Orientation Program of such duration as it may deem appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Hospital and the nurses involved.
