Common use of HOLIDAYS DEFINED Clause in Contracts

HOLIDAYS DEFINED. Paid holidays shall be: January 1st Third Monday in January (Xx. Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx. Day) February 12th (Xxxxxxx’s Birthday) Third Monday in February (Washington’s Birthday) Last Monday in May (Memorial Day) July 4th First Monday in September (Labor Day) November 11th (Veteran’s Day) Thanksgiving Day after Thanksgiving December 25th - Christmas All other days appointed by the President of the United States or Governor of the State of California as a nationwide or Statewide public holiday, day of fast, day of mourning, or day of thanksgiving, provided that observance of the day as a paid holiday is approved in writing by three (3) or more members of the Board of Supervisors. In the event that the date of observance of any of the foregoing holidays which coincide with State holidays, set forth in the California Government Code Section 6700, is changed by statute, said holiday shall be observed on the date so established instead of the date provided in this Section. In no event shall this provision reduce the number of holidays set forth in this Memorandum of Understanding.
