Holiday Substitution. Upon written request, an employee may substitute a religious Holiday for any of the above named Holidays.

Holiday Substitution. If the Government of Ontario declares a holiday to be observed other than those specifically enumerated in Section 43, it is agreed that the total holidays shall not be increased and the parties shall agree to substitute the holiday so declared for one of the specifically enumerated holidays set out in Section 43.
Holiday Substitution. If an employee works on a holiday the Employer may grant an employee a substitute day off at his regular rate of pay within a period of ninety (90) days subsequent to the holiday concerned. If a substitute day is not granted by the Employer for the holiday when mutually agreed, the Company will pay for the holiday. The Employer will post an availability schedule in all departments by November 15th. The purpose is to give employees an opportunity to request which holiday(s) they prefer to work. The Employer will post the completed work schedule by December 1st for the two weeks including Christmas and New Years. In selecting employees to work on a paid holiday, the Employer shall consider the efficient operation of the business, skill, ability and seniority.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday (a) For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays fall on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; and when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.
