Holiday Season. (a) The scheduling regulations, if required, will be waived between December 15th and January 15th, so that all nurses will receive at least five (5) consecutive days off at either Christmas or New Year’s, unless the nurse so declines. Nurses may request their five (5) consecutive days off to be scheduled to coincide with their religious holidays.

All nurses will receive no less than four (4) days off and the Employer will endeavour to provide five (5) or more consecutive days off at either Christmas or New Year's except for the following:
Holiday Season. If a nurse wishes to be scheduled less than the traditional 11.25 hour shifts over the Christmas rotation, this request and proposed schedule change will be brought forth to the manager for approval. Approval of such request will not be arbitrary or unreasonable. It is understood that such requests cannot affect the Christmas schedule of other nurses unless such nurses have agreed. Such proposed schedules will maintain the work commitment hours of the nurses. Such changes will not be subject to premium payment. E-7 In accordance with Article 14.09 of the Central Agreement, where a nurse has accumulated hours for overtime worked, the entitlement to lieu time off shall be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time within one hundred and twenty (120) days.

The Hospital will endeavour to schedule the night tour of December and off. The Hospital shall post a request list by September of each year. Nurses may be required to work either the Christmas or New Year's period on alternate years, as required by the Hospital unless otherwise requested by the nurse. If it is possible to schedule nurses to have both Christmas and New Year's periods off, then nurses will be scheduled to be off by rotation and seniority. The Hospital will post the finalized holiday season schedule no later than November of each year.

  • Holiday 6.1 The Executive shall be entitled during the Employment to 30 working days holiday in each calendar year plus bank holidays. Holiday may only be taken at such time or times as the Chief Executive Officer shall approve. The Executive’s holiday entitlement shall be pro rated for the year in which the Employment begins and for the year in which the Employment ends.

  • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • Civic Holiday 20.01 An employee who qualifies under Article 9 shall be paid for the Civic holiday.

  • Holiday Pay A. On each of the holidays designated above, each full-time employee scheduled to work but permitted to take the day off shall receive pay computed at the employee's basic hourly rate for the number of hours the employee was regularly scheduled to work.

  • Holiday Worked In addition to Subsection A above, employees will be compensated for the hours actually worked on a holiday at the overtime rate, in accordance with Article 17, Overtime.

  • Holiday Leave Holiday leave provisions shall be as noted below:

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Lunch If the Company elects to furnish a lunch meal, it will be suitable and may be in the form of a box lunch. The meal shall be eaten at the job site or a Company designated location. Employees eating a box lunch or other Company-provided lunch at the job site will be allowed 30 minutes paid time to eat and will also be granted the dollar amount of the meal allowance as specified under the labor agreement.
