Holiday Requests Sample Clauses

Holiday Requests. The Company agrees that no employee will be denied a personal holiday to which he would otherwise be entitled as a result of the employee’s failure to request such a holiday in advance. Rather employees who fail to request the personal holiday in advance shall be entitled to another mutually agreeable day off with pay within thirty (30) days of the request. The Company will make every effort to inform employees of their entitlement to the above named holidays.

Holiday Requests. Unit employees will be given preference on holiday requests based on seniority if requests are received by the employees' respective section commanders, no less than ten (10) calendar days nor more than twenty (20) calendar days preceding the holiday. If the ten (10) day deadline is not met, the holiday off will be allowed on a first come first served basis. The number of unit employees allowed off on any given shift shall be determined by the Police Chief or designee on the basis of service needs.
Holiday Requests. Requests will be approved on a rotating basis and in such manner as to ensure that all employees share in the burden of working the holidays from one year to the next. Each department that works the recognized holidays shall develop a unit specific procedure on how holidays will be assigned. This procedure shall be developed with management and all employees on the unit. The minimum standard will be that holidays are worked on a rotational basis and volunteers shall be sought first. This unit specific procedure shall be reviewed with staff each year.

  • Overtime Banking Employees desiring to bank overtime may elect to do so under the following criteria: * The half time associated to overtime may be banked up to a total of 24 hours per calendar year.
