Historic and Cultural Features. A former structure on this site housed a motel and diner known as Xxxxx Motel, which became historically significant during the U.S. Civil Rights movement of the 1960's. At the time that a new structure is built at the location of the former Xxxxx Motel, the Developer Owners or Designated Representative shall create and install a historical marker, at a place convenient and accessible to the public and near the location of the former diner, with information describing events that occurred at Xxxxx Motel on January 3, 1964 and their historical significance. In addition, the tributary on the site, east of and flowing into Xxxxxx Creek, shall be named Xxxxxxx Creek in honor of Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx who was a leader of 1964 events. The Developer Owner or Representative will provide an update about the status of these features in the Annual Report (OBEY Creek: see Section # - reference Annual Report).
Historic and Cultural Features. G.5.17.1 The University shall comply with the applicable law regulating archeological resources, including but not limited to the state Archaeological Resources Protection Act, state statutes on historic cemeteries, and the National Historic Preservation Act/National Register of Historic Places.
