High School Teaching Assignments. No secondary (PAHS/Adult/ Accelerated) teachers shall be required to teach more than twenty-­‐-­‐-­‐five (25) periods a week inclusive of lab periods. All PAHS/Adult/Accelerated secondary teachers shall be assigned five (5) additional periods to supervise study halls or to perform such other duties within his/her job description assigned by the administrator. This provision shall not apply to substitution duties. At locations where secondary staff are assigned duty periods as part of their schedules, volunteers may be sought to provide tutoring or other designated professional obligation services, in lieu of the duty period, on an as-­‐-­‐-­‐needed basis. These volunteers shall not be compensated additionally. Any PAHS/Adult/Accelerated teacher assigned to teach more than 25 periods per week shall be compensated at the following rate/s for the duration of this contract.

High School Teaching Assignments a. It is recognized that three (3) course preparations per week for each high school teacher as part of his/her five (5) teaching assignments, is preferable. However, it is also recognized that flexibility of scheduling for students sometimes requires up to four (4) different course preparations per week.

Thereafter, the administration shall solicit and consider any input from department chairs. In course selection due consideration must be given to various certifications within a single department. Whenever practical, all teachers shall carry an equitable number of preparations. In no case may a teacher be denied a full teaching schedule due to a more senior teacher's preference. The Department Chairs and teachers in grades 9-12 will work out schedules and specific teaching assignments cooperatively at a meeting where all members of the department are present. At the conclusion of the meeting each teacher will indicate his agreement with said schedule and assignment by signing off on a copy of the schedule. Thereafter, the signed copy of the schedule shall be submitted to the principal for review.

  • SPECIAL TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS A. Assignments for the Adult Education, Driver Education and Summer School Program will be made by the Board on the basis of preference to teachers possessing permanent teaching certificates regularly employed in the district during the normal school year.

  • Teaching Assignments No employee shall be assigned to teach in a grade level and/or subject area not within the scope of his/her teaching certificate, except where a position within his/her certification is unavailable or when mutually agreed to by the affected employee and principal, or when determined necessary by the principal. Employees assigned to positions outside the scope of their certificates shall be assigned as soon as possible to positions for which they hold certification.

  • Teaching Assignment For teaching faculty, the teaching assignment will be one or a combination of programs, courses, or student originated studies offerings (all of which are collectively referred to as “academic offerings” below). For full-time faculty the normal teaching assignment will be a program. For part-time faculty the normal assignment is either a program and/or course(s), depending on the terms of their contract. In addition, faculty may support individual learning contracts.

  • Training Assignments The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.

  • Teaching Staff Assigned to More Than One Building Each Educator who is assigned to more than one building will be evaluated by the appropriate administrator where the individual is assigned most of the time. The principal of each building in which the Educator serves must review and sign the evaluation, and may add written comments. In cases where there is no predominate assignment, the superintendent will determine who the primary evaluator will be.

  • TEACHING LOADS AND ASSIGNMENTS A. The normal daily/weekly teaching load shall be:

  • Teaching Assistants 1. All Teaching Assistants shall receive the same remuneration per base unit and the difference between the amount paid a Graduate Teaching Assistant and other Teaching Assistants is an associated scholarship. See XIII D. for appropriate compensation.

  • Housing Assignments The University assigns Licensee to a bed space and does not guarantee specific room types, buildings, communities, or roommates. The University shall have the right to reassign the Licensee to a different bed space without the Licensee’s consent prior to or during the term of the Agreement.

  • Teacher Assignments 6.10.1 Non-probationary teachers will be given the opportunity to indicate in writing their preference as to subject and grade assignment for the next school year. A teacher who desires a change of assignment within a school shall submit a Preference Form to the School Director. The preference will be considered when making assignments.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.
