HIGH QUALITY STUDENT Sample Clauses

HIGH QUALITY STUDENT. DATA (HQSD) Identification of HQSD is a requirement only for “on year” OTES-evaluated members, and is to be used as performance evidence in determining ratings on the OTES performance rubric. Specifically, HQSD is one source of performance evidence in the areas of “use of high quality student data” (for setting and monitoring goals) and “evidence of student learning” (student growth/achievement). Each “on year” OTES teacher must identify two sources of HQSD. Any teacher who has value- added attributed to them must use these data as one of the two sources of HQSD. The criteria for an assessment to meet the standards of providing HQSD are: • Align to learning standards • Measure what is intended to be measured • Not offend or be driven by bias • Be attributable to a specific teacher for course(s) and grade level(s) taught • Demonstrate evidence of student learning (achievement and/or academic growth) of a significant portion of course standards or of a key grouping of course standards • Follow protocols for administration and scoring • Provide trustworthy results Sources of HQSD must be formally approved as meeting all criteria above. No later than September 15 of each year, “on year” OTES teachers will submit sources of HQSD to be utilized for evaluation purposes via the district-developed form. A review committee comprised of the district’s Curriculum Specialists and the Superintendent (or designee) will review and approve all submissions. It is the teacher's responsibility to ensure that he or she has at least two sources of HQSD formally approved prior to September 30. After this deadline, no further submissions will be reviewed for approval (with the exception of those data sources already pre-approved). The review committee will return decisions on submissions within five work days of the submission; it is the teacher's responsibility to account for this review time in order to meet the September 30 deadline for final approval. In the event that there is disagreement with a review committee decision, the affected teacher may appeal to the PCTA president in writing. An ad hoc review committee will convene, consisting of not more than three representatives appointed by the PCTA president and not more than three representatives appointed by the Superintendent to make the final decision. This ad hoc committee will return decisions on appeals within five work days of the appeal; it is the teacher's responsibility to account for this review time in order to ...
