Health Insurance Committee. A Health Insurance Committee shall be established and maintained with three (3) representatives appointed by each employee association and three (3) representatives appointed by the superintendent. The purpose of the Committee shall be to make recommendations designed to optimize the quality of health care available to district employees and improve cost effectiveness of the health insurance program. Committee members shall review data, work with the District insurance consultant, collaborate on making recommendations for changes in plan design, review bids by insurance companies, and ultimately consider recommending plan changes to their respective constituencies. The committee is not empowered to unilaterally make changes in health care benefits without ratification by the Associations and approval by the Board. The creation of the Health Insurance Committee does not diminish or in any way reduce the Board’s and Association’s rights or responsibilities.
Health Insurance Committee. A Health Insurance Committee composed of no more than five (5) people appointed by the Association President and five (5) people appointed by the Superintendent will be formed to study the Health Benefits Package. The parties recognize the increases in health benefit costs and seek possible ways in which to limit significant costs increases in the future. Any proposed change in the Health Benefits Package shall be presented to the parties for ratification and inclusion in the Contract. The Committee shall choose the Chairperson. The Committee will meet at least two (2) times a year.

The CITY and SEIU may reopen negotiations during the term of this MOU to consider changes to matters investigated and reviewed by the Insurance Committee if agreed to by both parties. If any legally mandated changes to health insurance should occur during the term of this MOU, both parties agree to re-open negotiations to meet and confer over any related mandatory subjects of bargaining.
Health Insurance Committee. ‌ The parties agree to a Health Insurance Committee, involving representatives appointed by the bargaining agents of employee groups and those designated by the Superintendent for the purpose of continuing to explore ways of containing the cost of health insurance. The committee shall not exceed 16 members, eight of whom will be appointed by the Superintendent, including the chair, and eight members appointed by the District’s unions. The Health Insurance Committee (HIC) shall have the authority to make recommendations to the negotiating team regarding health insurance issues and propose language. The Health Insurance Committee shall recommend changes to the health plan to include wellness, an Employee Assistance Program and other voluntary benefits offered to employees, at no or reasonable costs to employees. In collaboration with the procurement department, a Request for Proposals (RFP) may be developed by the Insurance Committee to be issued in the early spring of any given year with the intent to permit a change in insurance carriers during the ensuing school year, if such a change is beneficial to the Board and its employees.
Health Insurance Committee. A health insurance committee consisting of three members of OAPSE, three members of the Bay Teachers Association, a member of the Bay Individual and Small Group Instruction Teachers Association and three members of the administration appointed by the Superintendent shall be charged with the reduction of health care costs to the Board and members of the bargaining unit through improvement of employee health status and health plan cost management. The Health Care Committee shall be co-chaired by the OAPSE President, BTA President and the superintendent or his/her designee. A recording secretary shall be appointed. Regular minutes shall be kept and shared with all members. An organizational meeting will be held no later than October 1, 2016 to discuss the operation of the committee, with no changes being implemented as a result of the committee’s recommendations until October 1, 2017. The administration and OAPSE local each commit to agree that they will appoint members to serve on the Health Care Committee and the parties shall work to consensus on cost reduction items that the Health Care Committee wants to consider. Annually the committee shall make recommendations to change plan design, the certificate of coverage and other steps that will act to keep the rate of premium increases as low as possible in order to be pre-emptive in controlling any projected increase. An such recommendations shall become effective as soon as is practicable upon ratification of the bargaining units. This section shall be amended upon ratification of changes.
Health Insurance Committee. Effective with the ratification of contracts between the Board and AWEA and OAPSE, there shall be a labor-management health benefits committee. The committee will have the responsibility of reviewing all health benefits related issues including but not limited to benefits design, costs, and communications to district personnel. The committee will make recommendations to the superintendent, all school employees and school employee organizations regarding health benefits and costs. The committee will consist of certified, classified, and administrative personnel. The committee shall receive labor-management health benefits committee training triennially by the School Employees Health Care Board (“Board”), a Board approved training organization or an organization agreed to by a majority of the committee.

Health Insurance Committee. A. The Superintendent/Treasurer shall establish a long-range insurance committee consisting of representatives from the Association, the administration, and classified employees. The Superintendent/Treasurer shall appoint a facilitator of the committee. The committee’s responsibilities include reviewing insurance costs, exploring programs, additions, modifications of the current benefit schedule, and providing timely information for negotiations. The committee will meet at least annually with individual committee members having the authority to submit agenda items. No change in the insurance benefit program shall occur except through the negotiations process as provided in the master agreement or under O.R.C. 4117.
Health Insurance Committee. The Association and the Board will continue to meet in committee together with representatives of other bargaining units, to discuss health insurance matters affecting employees, to provide input into cost containment options and possible plan modifications, and, on matters on which there is consensus among committee members, to make recommendations regarding health insurance coverage and design options by October 1 of the final year of a negotiated agreement. The Association will choose the Association representatives who will serve on the committee and will provide the names of the committee members to the Superintendent during the month of May for the following school year.
Health Insurance Committee. The School District and TESA will establish a joint committee to explore health insurance options. Further, if any of the health insurance changes agreed to by the parties throughout this article (Article 16) prohibits the School District from recouping per pupil funding from the state based upon “best practices,” then the parties will meet in good faith for the purpose of agreeing to a resolution which will allow the District to recoup the per pupil funding.
