Health and Safety Concerns. A. Hepatitis B shots shall be offered at Board expense to bargaining unit members in the following at-risk positions: vocational agriculture, industrial arts, life sciences, physical education, science, and coaching. In addition, at least four (4) other bargaining unit members will be offered the shots per school year. Interested bargaining unit members should notify the superintendent. Hepatitis B shots shall be offered through the county health department.
Health and Safety Concerns. 9.111 A bargaining unit member who has a health or safety concern regarding students or other Board employees shall discuss the matter with his or her immediate supervisor. If not addressed satisfactorily, or in a timely fashion, the concern shall be reduced to writing and submitted to the immediate supervisor with a copy to the Superintendent. The Superintendent or administrative designee shall respond in writing to the member who voiced the concern and the Association within ten (10) days. Health and Safety Concerns. The District shall continue to minimize the risk of injury to employees from any student who engages in potentially dangerous behaviors by (1) sharing relevant information with employees regarding these students to the extent permitted by law; (2) the employee will file an incident report when a student engages in dangerous behaviors that lead to an injury, and (3) providing timely training to employees serving students who engage in potentially dangerous behaviors. When health and safety concerns arise, the employee will first work out such concerns with the teacher or the principal/designee. If the concern is not resolved at the building level, it is the employee’s responsibility to contact the Association President.
