Handling Grievances. 1. When requested by an employee, a xxxxxxx may investigate any alleged grievance in his or her assigned area and assist in its preparation and presentation. The xxxxxxx shall encourage the employee to discuss a problem informally with his/her supervisor prior to filing a formal grievance or appeal.

Handling Grievances. 1. When an employee has a grievance, they may request that a Board member, with permission of their supervisor, investigate the grievance in their assigned work area and assist in its preparation and presentation. If no Board member is assigned to the employee’s work area or if the Board member assigned to the employee’s work area is not available at the time the grievant makes their request, another Board member may investigate the grievance.

Handling Grievances. The presentation of grievances and investigation of grievances, where necessary, in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, provided that such investigations do not interfere with the County’s operations. Handling Grievances. The parties understand and agree that the handling of grievances will not unreasonably interfere with the work duties of the xxxxxxx, the employee grievant or other bargaining unit employees. Accordingly, the xxxxxxx will first attempt to perform necessary grievance responsibilities on non-work time. Release time is subject to the legitimate scheduling needs of the department. A xxxxxxx who is released by a supervisor to investigate a grievance or to meet with Water Authority representative shall promptly return to their assigned duties. A xxxxxxx shall notify and receive prior approval of their immediate supervisor before leaving their work site. The immediate supervisor will authorize the xxxxxxx to leave their work unless the immediate needs of the Water Authority, as determined by the supervisor, require refusal of such permission, in which case the immediate supervisor shall inform the xxxxxxx of the reasons for the denial and establish an alternate time when the xxxxxxx can reasonably expect to be released from their work assignment. When a xxxxxxx desires to contact an employee at their work location, the xxxxxxx shall first contact the immediate supervisor of that employee, advise the supervisor of the nature of the business, and obtain permission of the supervisor to meet with the employee. The immediate supervisor will make the employee available promptly unless the needs of the Water Authority as determined by the supervisor require the employee's presence at their work site in which case the supervisor will notify the xxxxxxx when they can reasonably expect to contact the employee.
Handling Grievances. Union officers and employee-members of the Union Committee may not solicit but may receive and process grievances (as provided in this Article 8) on the premises of the Company during their working hours except where any such activity unreasonably interferes with their work. No Union officer or employee-member of the Union Committee or other employee shall leave his work for the purpose of processing a grievance without first receiving permission from his supervisor.

Handling Grievances. The stewards shall be allowed to handle requests, complaints, or grievances arising under this Agreement during their working hours without loss of compensation provided that the time so spent is devoted to the prompt handling of requests, complaints or grievances in accordance with the Grievance Procedure of this Agreement and that they at all other times continue to perform their assigned jobs.
