Guidelines to Complaints. Employees who believe that they have been harassed are encouraged to talk to whomever they feel comfortable talking to, including any one of the Designated Union Representative, Job Stewards, Managers or co-workers. They should then be encouraged to discuss their concerns with one of the Designated Union Representative. Complainants are encouraged to make known to the alleged respondent(s) that their conduct is unwelcome and that it should cease immediately. If this is not successful in stopping the behavior, the complainants should continue through the process. If the complainants feel uncomfortable or unsafe in approaching the alleged respondent directly, this step may be skipped.

They should then be encouraged to discuss their concerns with one of the Harassment Advisors. The Advisors have been trained to offer advice, assistance and support on how to deal with harassment concerns. Complainants are encouraged to make known to the alleged respondent(s) that their conduct is unwelcome and that it should cease immediately. If this is not successful in stopping the behaviour, the complainants should continue through the process. If the complainants feel uncomfortable or unsafe in approaching the alleged respondent directly, this step may be skipped.
Guidelines to Complaints. A complainant may either initiate a grievance as per the grievance procedure of the Collective Agreement or file a written complaint with the General Manager or his/her designate or with Human Resources and the President of the Local Union or his/her designate.
