Guardian Program. To support Sts’ailes in building the capacity to manage the growing recreation and tourism use of Sts’ailes Traditional Territory and Xa Xa Temexw and to reinforce Sts’ailes’ fundamental role in resource management within Sts’ailes Traditional Territory and Xa Xa Temexw, the Province will provide Sts’ailes funding in accordance with Schedule 5 that may include the following:
Guardian Program. A guardian is an “armed personnel who aid in the prevention or abatement of active assailant incidents on school premises.”31 A guardian could be a volunteer school employee or hired personnel. Guardians have to complete a series of tests and screenings (i.e., psychological and drug screenings) as well as complete at minimum 144 hours of classroom training, including 12 hours of diversity training and 132 hours of comprehensive firearm training, including 16 hours of precision pistol instruction, 8 hours of instruction in active shooter or assailant scenarios, 8 hours of defensive tactics instruction, 12 hours of instruction in legal issues, and 8 hours of discretionary shooting instruction.31 Volusia County began training for the guardian program in the 2018-2019 school year and the program was implemented in the 2019-2020 school year.

  • Leave Donation Program Employees may donate paid leave to a fellow employee who is otherwise eligible to accrue and use sick leave and is employed by the same Agency. The intent of the leave donation program is to allow employees to voluntarily provide assistance to their co-workers who are in critical need of leave due to the serious illness or injury of the employee or a member of the employee’s immediate family. The definition of immediate family as provided in rule 123:1-47-01 of the Administrative Code shall apply for the leave donation program.

  • Dependent Care Assistance Program The County offers the option of enrolling in a Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) designed to qualify for tax savings under Section 129 of the Internal Revenue Code, but such savings are not guaranteed. The program allows employees to set aside up to five thousand dollars ($5,000) of annual salary (before taxes) per calendar year to pay for eligible dependent care (child and elder care) expenses. Any unused balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered by the employee.

  • Retirement Program Any employee employed prior to October 1, 1977, working at least seventy (70) hours per month shall by law be a member of the Washington Public Employees Retirement system (PERS) Plan One. Any employee working at least seventy (70) hours per month, entering employment on or after October 1, 1977, shall by law be a member of the School Employees Retirement System, Plan Two or Three. The District shall provide each new employee information concerning PERS or SERS membership benefits.
