Granting of Status. Whenever the Civil Service Commission or other appropriate authority grants an employee direct status in another class, the employee shall receive the step determined in accordance with the provisions of this section.
Granting of Status. Whenever the Civil Service Commission or other appropriate authority grants an employee direct status in a higher paying class, the range for which is approximately one (1) step greater than the range of the employee's former class, the employee shall receive the step determined by the rule governing promotions.

Granting of Status. Seniority shall be granted to all regular employees who have completed their probationary period consisting of six (6) months. Upon completion of the probationary period, seniority shall be granted from the first day of employment.
