Grant Funded Employees. From time to time, the Employer is provided with short-term funds through a grant for a specific purpose. When such an occasion arises, the Employer will provide notice to the Association and provide information to identify the term and purpose of the grant. The terms and conditions listed below shall govern the rights of grant-funded employees. These terms and conditions shall not apply to the permanently certified employee who is assigned to a grant-funded position and who does not experience an interruption as defined in Section 7.03, Subd. 1 of this Agreement.

Grant Funded Employees. From time to time, the Employer is provided with grant funds. Grants are defined as temporary funds provided for other than normal City operations and shall be for a limited duration and purpose. When those occasions arise, the Employer will provide notice to the Union. The terms and conditions listed below shall govern the rights of grant funded employees. In order for an employee to qualify as a “grant funded employee” under this section the Employer must officially notify the employee that he/she is filling a position funded by a grant prior to employment, and the grant must fund more than fifty (50) percent of the position. With the exception of a permanently certified employee who is assigned to a grant funded position and who does not experience an interruption as defined in Section 6.03 Subd. 1 of this Agreement, the employee shall:
Grant Funded Employees. The Union shall be sent a copy of all non-renewal letters at the time the notification of non-renewal is given to the affected employee.
Grant Funded Employees. 1. The Union recognizes that the Employer can enhance its operations by obtaining grant funding from external sources. The Union encourages such endeavors, including the hiring of grant-­‐funded employees to perform duties that would not otherwise be provided by the Employer. All provisions of this Agreement shall apply to employees hired within the Union's bargaining unit subject to grant funding, with the following modifications: Grant employees shall accrue departmental seniority within the project funded by the grant and successor grants for the same or substantially similar projects. Grant employees shall be notified at the time of hire of the duration of grant funding. Grant employees shall accrue departmental seniority within the project funded by the grant. Grant employees shall not receive severance pay if terminated due to expiration and non-­‐renewal of grant funding. However, any grant employee who transfers to a job that is not grant-­‐funded shall be credited with seniority from the date of initial hire, including service for all grant-­‐funded employment. Any permanent employee transferring from a non-­‐ grant position to a grant-­‐funded position retains and accrues seniority from the date of first hire, and retains all seniority-­‐based unit-­‐wide promotion, transfer and layoff rights. Grant employees on leave of absence shall have the right to return to a position in the grant-­‐ funded project.
Grant Funded Employees. The Board and the Union recognize that as a condition of employment, employees who are being paid out of the restricted funds are hired only for the duration of the grant for which they work. Therefore, it is agreed that these employees shall enjoy all the rights and benefits of this Agreement except Section 2.9 – Seniority, during the duration of the grant for which they currently work. Those employees who have been employed prior to July 1, 2011, under the conditions of a grant shall enjoy all rights and benefits of this Agreement, including Section 2.9 – Seniority. Any salary increase above and beyond the conditions of the grant will only apply to the percentage of salary funded by the College through unrestricted funds.
Grant Funded Employees. Any employee hired after June 1, 2016 in a position that is 100% funded pursuant to Federal, State or foundation grants of limited duration shall be exempt from Article 23, “Bumping,” of this Collective Bargaining Agreement for the duration of their employment in the grant- funded position. Employees in such grant funded positions must be informed in writing prior to hire of the name of the funding source, the limited duration of their grant-funded position and the reduction in rights under this agreement. The Association President shall be provided a copy of such notice.
Grant Funded Employees. If an employee is assigned to another grant for more than ten (10) days in a grant that is different from where an individual’s contract of employment originates, and from whose specific program budget salaries are paid, either party may request a meeting to discuss the situation.

Grant Funded Employees. Any employee hired after June 1, 2016 in a position that is 100% funded pursuant to Federal, State or foundation grants of limited duration shall be exempt from Article 18, “Bumping,” of this Collective Bargaining Agreement for the duration of their employment in the grant-funded position. Such employees hired before June 1, 2016 shall be exempt from Article 18 for only the first three years of their employment in the grant-funded position. Employees in such grant funded positions must be informed in writing prior to hire of the name of the funding source, the limited duration of their grant-funded position and the reduction in rights under this agreement. The Association President shall be provided a copy of such notice.
Grant Funded Employees. Full-time bargaining unit members whose salary is funded from grants or from sources other than the College’s general fund at a level of less than fifty percent (50%), shall, when such funding sources expire, be offered any full-time bargaining unit position that is vacant and posted and for which the employee is qualified. In the event the employee is not qualified, then such employee shall be granted a thirty (30) day period in which to acquire the qualifications for such position. Part-time bargaining unit members whose salary is funded from grants or from sources other than the College’s general fund at a level of less than fifty percent (50%), shall, when such funding sources expire, be offered any part-time bargaining unit position that is vacant and posted and for which the employee is qualified. In the event the employee is not qualified, then such employee shall be granted a thirty (30) day period in which to acquire the qualifications for such position. Bargaining unit members who are compensated with monies derived from grants or from sources other than the College’s general fund shall, when such funding sources are reduced such that the remaining monies cannot fund a full-time position but can fund a part-time position, shall be offered the part-time position. If the employee declines to accept the part-time position, he or she shall be separated from the College.
Grant Funded Employees. The terms and conditions of this Agreement shall not apply to persons who may be employed under grants or subsidies arranged by the Employer with outside agencies with the consent of the Union. The Union agrees that such consent will not be unreasonably withheld. The Employer agrees that at no time shall people working under grants or subsidies arranged by the Employer cause a loss of wages, layoffs, or a delay of recall to a regular employee.
