GHANA. The case of Ghana, another west African country, is no different where 69% of the total country’s physician strength is concentrated in the two largest urban centers of the country (Greater Accra and Kumasi). ▇▇▇▇ et al. found that: career development opportunities, clear job descriptions and security and financial incentives could help to retain physicians in the rural health facilities of Ghana. Besides, facilities’ infrastructure, accommodation and facilities for the family are other important factors in the physicians’ choice of working in the rural regions of Ghana. (▇▇▇▇ et al., 2011).
