General Travel Conditions. The parties recognize that it is sometimes inconvenient to get to the job location because of varying distances. It is agreed and understood that while traveling to and from work in employee-owned vehicles, the employees are not within the course and scope of their employment and the relationship of Employer- employee does not commence until the hourly wage commences.

All necessary ferry or other forms of water transportation are to be reimbursed by the Employer in the following instances and manner: Employees will be reimbursed at the passenger’s fare or passenger’s carfare when substantiated by receipts. When employees elect to live at or near the project and forego daily ferry travel, it is recognized that they are entitled to the prerogative of visiting their homes for the weekend, and in that event, ferry charges shall be paid for such weekend travel as substantiated by receipts. When circumstances make it necessary that a toll bridge be utilized, the employees will be reimbursed accordingly.
