General Staff. (a) The normal hours of work for the day shift maintenance employees and network systems analysts shall be eight (8) consecutive hours per day, forty (40) hours per week inclusive of meal periods.
General Staff. F.1.1.1 The Employer shall approve payment of a higher duties allowance to an Employee who is required to undertake the full duties and responsibilities of a higher-graded position during the temporary absence of the occupant of that position, and who competently discharges those higher duties. Payment at a lesser rate may be approved for an Employee who is required to undertake only some of the duties and responsibilities of a higher graded position. The minimum qualifying period is 15 consecutive working days actually undertaking the higher duties and responsibilities and this criterion must be met on each occasion that the higher duties are performed.
General Staff. F.6.1.1 Trades Supervisors who are required to be available on an informal on-call basis shall be paid an on-call allowance of $15.23 with effect 3 January 2022.
General Staff. 5.3.1 The regular work week for all full-time employees covered by Wage Schedule “A” of this agreement shall consist of five (5) consecutive work days of eight (8) hours each, Monday to Friday inclusive.
General Staff i) The regular work week for all full-time custodial, maintenance and heating personnel shall consist of five (5) consecutive working days of eight (8) hours each from Monday to Friday, excepting where shift work or weekend work is required by virtue of winter heating, the work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days per week of eight (8) hours each in a schedule mutually agreed upon by the Board and the Union. Maintenance work on out-of-town schools shall start at the maintenance shop and end at the regular quitting time at the maintenance shop.
General Staff. Two hundred and eight dollars and eighty-four cents (208.84) per month (flat amount) minimum payment plus thirty three point seventy-one cents (33.71¢) per kilometre (variable amount) for all duty kilometres travelled. The flat and variable portions of car allowance will be increased in direct relationship to the increase of the auto operation segment, transportation component of the Consumer Price Index of Canada. For every one percent (1%) increase in the auto operation segment, the car allowance will be increased by one percent (1%). Computation will be made semi-annually with change to be effective July 1, and January 1, based on the increase due the previous six (6) months. NOTE: Increases will be calculated by subtracting the latest index from the last highest index that had produced the previous increase in the car allowance.
General Staff. (a) Each employee will establish a Performance Agreement in accordance with the provisions of Part 5 of this Agreement, in the form and to the standard required, to achieve the outcomes required of their position, and to provide for ongoing professional and personal development;

B.1.1.1 This agreement shall apply to those employees that are employed as General Staff who are members of the TEU or PSA excluding: Senior Management Team Members as defined at B.1.1.3 below, and positions that report directly to Senior Management Team Members, with the exception of staff with the title of Personal Assistant; and HR Management positions, Senior HR Advisors, HR Advisors, HR Specialists, HR Team Leaders, HR Consultants; and Non-administrative Recreation Centre Staff; and Casual staff as specified in clause C.1. or a student currently enrolled at the University who is employed for not more than 20 hours in any one week; and Specialist Research Positions (e.g. Post Doctorate Fellows, Research Associates, Research Fellows) and Academic Support Positions (eg Teaching Assistants, Field Demonstrators, Laboratory Demonstrators, Research Assistants, Laboratory Assistants, Tutors, Instructors); and Early Childhood Education Teachers or Support Staff; and Positions covered by any other University of Canterbury collective employment agreement
General Staff. 15.8 From 1 January 2014, a General Staff Member is entitled to five weeks’ annual leave.
