WORK LEVEL DEFINITIONS 11.1 CHILD CARE WORKER TRAINEE LEVEL Employees at this level will acquire, predominantly through on-the-job training, the basic skills and knowledge necessary to perform a range of activities, applicable to the base level of work for which they have been recruited. • Appointment to this level will be for a maximum period of three months. • Employees will be provided with information about the conditions of work, policies, procedures and objectives of the agency concerned. • Information will be provided about Occupational Health and Safety regulations, procedures and legislation and Equal Employment Opportunity and practise. • Direct instruction and monitoring by a skilled and experienced employee will be provided to employees at this level.

Beginning July 1, 2014, a $100.00 stipend will be paid each year to an ESP that has attained Highly Qualified status. Documentation must be submitted to Human Resources by May 1st to qualify for the stipend. Documentation does not need to be resubmitted once it is received. A $200.00 stipend will be paid each year to an ESP that has attained the Minnesota Paraprofessional Credential. Documentation must be submitted to Human Resources by the last day of school. Documentation does not need to be resubmitted once it is received. Stipend payment will be to ESPs who are active on the last day of the school year and will be made the last pay period of the current school year.

GENERAL EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS. CASUAL EMPLOYMENT A casual employee is engaged by the hour for a minimum of four consecutive hours. The employment of a casual employee may be terminated without notice by either the casual employee or Employer, subject to the payment of the minimum amount of wages and subject to the casual employee working the time covered by the payment of the wages.
