Garbage Disposal(s)‌. Your garbage disposal is designed to dispose of soft food products only. It cannot grind up stringy or hard items (i.e. foreign objects, glass, bottles caps, egg shells, fruit pits or skins, macaroni, potato skins). You may request service of your non-operative disposal to the landlord. You will be billed by Chico College Apts at the going rate to repair the disposal in the case of a Tenant related repair for a minimum of $75.00. PLUMBING: DO NOT FLUSH Facial tissue, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, q-tips, cat litter and plastic items down the toilet. THESE ITEMS WILL OBSTRUCT THE LINE AND CAUSE THE TOILET TO BACK UP AND OVERFLOW. Do not pour grease down kitchen sinks. Tenants will be charged a minimum charge of $55.00 to clear any plumbing line. If the clog is determined to be tenants caused and is the charge to the Landlord exceed $55.00, the tenants will agree to pay the additional amount.
Garbage Disposal(s)‌. Garbage disposal units, if provided, are only for the disposal of small amounts of food materials that can be easily ground up. The disposal unit is to be operated only with the water running. Never pour grease or lard down the sink. Misuse of the garbage disposal and required repeated service will require payment from the Tenant for the maintenance requests.
Garbage Disposal(s)‌. In units with garbage disposals, Resident must not put any of the following into the disposal: bones (other than those that are small & easy to grind), fruit & vegetable pits, coffee grounds, shellfish, celery, corn husks, artichoke leaves, rice, pasta, potato peels, etc. or any non-food item(s). Cooking oil, grease and fat are not to be disposed down the garbage disposal or the sink drain. Small amounts (less than ¼ cup) of cooking oil, grease and fat may be disposed of in food waste (compost) containers; any amount exceeding ¼ cup should be placed in a sealed container and placed in the trash receptacle. Use only cold water when running the disposal. Run it for a time after the grinding has stopped to clear the garbage from the disposal and pipes. If the garbage disposal is damaged or plugged due to Resident abuse or neglect, the actual cost to repair or replace the disposal will be charged to the Resident.
Garbage Disposal(s)‌. Do not to put bones, silverware, glass, etc. into the garbage disposal. This may cause a malfunction and possibly a service call. Tenants are responsible for the cost of all service calls due to misuse of appliances and or plumbing stoppages caused by materials the tenant, tenant's household members, or guests.
Garbage Disposal(s)‌. If there is a repair needed to a garbage disposal as a result of Tenants misuse or neglect (Ex. Glass, eggshells, potato peels, hard items, bottle caps, etc.) all costs associated with the repair shall be the Tenants responsibility. Should there be normal wear and tear mechanical failure to the garbage disposal the cost would be the responsibility of the Landlord should they choose to replace the mechanism.

Garbage Disposal(s)‌. If your property comes with a functioning garbage disposal in the sink, and it stops working, please call our office. It will be solely up to the Owner of the property as to whether or not the disposal will be repaired, replaced or capped off.
Garbage Disposal(s)‌. If the Park is served by individual on-site septic systems, no garbage disposals may be installed or used by residents.
