FUNERAL LEAVE WITH PAY a. In the case of the death of a mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, brother, sister, husband, wife, child, stepchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, or in the case of death of any other relative residing in the immediate household of a regular employee, the employee shall be allowed thirty-two (32) hours funeral leave with regular pay without deduction from his pay or accumulated sick leave. In the case of death of a sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, nephew, or niece of the regular employee or spouse, the employee shall be allowed sixteen (16) hours funeral leave with regular pay without deduction from his pay or accumulated sick leave. In addition, the regular employee may be allowed to use twenty-four (24) hours accumulated sick leave in the case of death of any of the above designated persons.

FUNERAL LEAVE WITH PAY. A. The leave may be used to attend the funeral and/or to bereave the death of the relative. The leave may be taken non-consecutively with approval from the Department Head or Human Resources Director when circumstances warrant.

FUNERAL LEAVE WITH PAY. 15-1 An employee will be given approved leave with pay, not to exceed three (3) days per occasion as required by the circumstances, for the death of a person in his immediate family as defined in paragraph 15-3. Permission for longer absence with pay, under appropriate circumstances, may be given by the employee's immediate supervisor with the approval of Employee Relations. FUNERAL LEAVE WITH PAY. An employee shall be eligible for funeral leave with pay at the rate of up to thirty-two (32) hours for the immediate family and up to eight (8) hours for secondary family. For purposes of funeral leave, grandparent and grandchild shall be included as immediate family and the employee shall be eligible for funeral leave with pay at the rate of thirty-two (32) hours. The relationship of step-grandparent or step-grandchild ceases to exist upon death or divorce of the spouse upon which the relationship is predicated.
FUNERAL LEAVE WITH PAY. A. If a death occurs among members of the Employee’s immediate family, such Employee, provided he/she attends the funeral and submits documentation of such upon return to work, will be granted three (3) days leave not to be charged to Casual Leave. An Employee may take an additional two (2) days of funeral leave to be charged to Casual Leave or Vacation upon his/her request.

FUNERAL LEAVE WITH PAY. 22.1: Any seniority, full-time employee subject to this Policy who, while actively working, shall suffer death in his immediate family will be granted a funeral leave of absence with normal daily basic straight-time pay for up to three (3) consecutive regularly scheduled work days between the date of death and date of the funeral, the last day of which shall be the day of the funeral. Immediate family is defined for purposes of this Article as any of the following relatives of eligible employees: mother, father, sister, brother, wife, husband, son, daughter, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents of the employee and spouse. An eligible employee who suffers death of a brother-in-law, sister-in-law or an aunt, uncle, niece or nephew, of blood relation will be granted a funeral leave of absence with normal daily basic straight time pay for one (1) regularly scheduled work day to attend the funeral. The City may require written application for such leave, as well as proof of death, relationship to the deceased and/or proof of attendance at the funeral.

  • Marriage Leave With Pay (a) After the completion of one (l) year's continuous employment, and providing an employee gives NAV CANADA at least fifteen (15) days' notice, the employee shall be granted five (5) days' marriage leave with pay for the purpose of getting married.
