Funeral Leave and Immediate Family. An employee shall be granted time off with pay, not to be deducted from sick leave, for the purposes of attending a funeral of a member of the employee’s immediate family. The employee shall be entitled to a maximum of three (3) work days for each death in his immediate family. For the purposes of funeral leave, “immediate family” shall be defined as to only include the employee’s spouse, children or parents, step- children, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister and step-parents, grandchildren, grandparents, step-grandparents, and step-grandchildren.

Funeral Leave and Immediate Family. Upon the death of any member of the 27 employee’s or his/her spouse’s immediate family the employee may take two (2) days funeral leave 28 with full pay for the purpose of making funeral arrangements and attending the funeral. Immediate 29 family shall be defined as the following; spouse, child, mother, father, xxxxxx parent or guardian, 30 brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, 31 stepfather, stepmother, stepsister, stepbrother, stepson, stepdaughter, half-brother, half-sister, or 32 any dependent living in the same household. Further, requests may be made to the Safety-Service 33 Director for the purpose of Funeral leave for persons for whom the employee has power of attorney 34 or is designated as the legal guardian.
Funeral Leave and Immediate Family. Up to twenty-four (24) hours with pay may be used to attend the funeral of a member ofthe employee's immediate family. Immediate family, as used in this Article, shall be defined as the employee's spouse, children, step-'child, father, mother, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in­ law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchild and grandparent of employee or his/her spouse. Additional funeral leave to be deducted from sick leave may be allowed if travel time is needed to a funeral for the above-mentioned family when the funeral is outside of the State of Ohio. Additional time shall be on approval of the Fire Chief, or in the Fire Chiefs absence, the officer in charge. In the event the death of an immediate family member as defined herein occurs on an employee's scheduled workday, he/she shall be released from the balance of the shift, with pay, and such time shall be deducted from sick leave.

  • Immediate family or household 25.2.1 The entitlement to use personal leave for the purposes of carer’s or bereavement leave is subject to the person in respect of whom the leave is taken being either:

  • Illness in Immediate Family 1. Up to three (3) days of sick leave may be used by a teacher for each serious illness of a member of that teacher's immediate family or birth of a child of a teacher. Serious illness shall mean an illness where death is probable and may occur, surgery is performed requiring hospitalization, or illness requiring treatment by a physician. Two (2) additional days of sick leave may be used where round trip travel is 600 miles or more.

  • Death in Immediate Family A regularly scheduled employee may be granted up to five days of leave of absence with pay by the Agency/Department Head because of death in the immediate family. An employee shall be allowed to take such leave within a four week period. For purposes of this subsection, "immediate family" means mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, husband, wife, domestic partner (upon submission of an affidavit as defined in the appendices), son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, xxxxxx parent, xxxxxx child, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, or any other person sharing the relationship of in loco parentis; and, when living in the household of the employee, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law. Entitlement to leave of absence under this subsection shall be only for all hours the employee would have been scheduled to work for those days granted, and shall be in addition to any other entitlement for sick leave, emergency leave, or any other leave.

  • Immediate Family Immediate family includes husband, wife, child, stepchild, brother, brother-in-law, stepbrother, sister, sister-in-law, stepsister, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, parent, stepparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, or any person serving as a parent, or who has served as a parent, or any other close person living in the same household as the employee.

  • Funeral Leave Section 30.1 In the event of the death of a parent, spouse, child, sister, brother, mother-in- law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent of the Employee or spouse, grandchild of the Employee, or “xxxxxx” or “step” members within these relationships, the Employee shall be allowed a leave of absence with pay of two (2) consecutive (eight or ten hour) workdays.

  • Family The District shall contribute no less than eighty percent (80%) of the total cost of the premium toward family coverage. The employee shall pay the difference between the District contribution and the total cost of the premium for family dental coverage.
