Funeral and Bereavement Leave. 10.2.1 Employees assigned to a forty-hour average work week shall receive one (1) or, if necessary for travel, two (2) shifts off duty with pay as funeral leave in the event of a death of a close relative. The second shift off is applicable only in instances where total travel of 200 miles or more is necessary. The intent of this provision is to provide time off from regularly scheduled duty to attend or make arrangements for a funeral in event of the death of a close relative.
