Funeral and Bereavement Leave. 19.01 In the event of death in the immediate family of an employee, the employee will be granted leave of absence with pay, with consideration given to travel time for attending the funeral. The length of absence shall be up to three (3) days at the discretion of the Employer. The term ‘immediate family’ shall mean: spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, step-mother, step-father, step-son, step-daughter, step-brother, step-sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, and grandchildren, or any relative living in the household of the employee. In the event of the demise of an aunt or uncle, nephew or niece, an employee will be granted one (1) day leave of absence with pay to attend the funeral. In the case of death of spouse, father, mother, child, step-parent or step-child, the employee shall be entitled to, up to one (1) weeks leave of absence with pay.
Funeral and Bereavement Leave. Effective ratification 2013 (April 10, 2013) the following language applies to all employees: In the event of death of a brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, or any relative living in the household of the employee, the Employer will grant up to three (3) paid days compassionate Leave of Absence. This leave will be granted to attend the funeral and such time off must be taken at the time of bereavement or the time of service. In the event of death of spouse, father, mother, or child, the employee shall be entitled to one (1) week's leave of absence with pay at the time of bereavement. It is understood that in the case of a part-time employee, the compensation shall be at the average hours worked during the preceding four (4) weeks. The family members listed in this paragraph include “step” family members, for example, father also includes step-father. Should an employee's entitlement to the one (1) week's leave of absence with pay occur while the employee is on vacation, the employee's week of vacation will be re-scheduled at some later date as mutually agreed between the employee and the Employer. An employee's day off will not be altered to circumvent funeral leave benefit. This leave may be extended for up to five (5) working days by using vacation time, A.T.O. and/or unpaid leave. Employees may request up to five (5) working days of vacation time, A.T.O., or unpaid leave for time off in the event of death of other family members not listed above.
Funeral and Bereavement Leave. 1. An employee shall be allowed three (3) working days with pay as funeral leave not to be deducted from sick leave for a death in the immediate family. Immediate family is defined as follows: mother, father, step-parents, brother, sister, wife or husband, son or daughter, step-children, moth- er-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents and grandchildren. Additional days may be granted, and shall be chargeable to either sick leave or without pay, at the option of the employee.
Funeral and Bereavement Leave. 20.1.1 Employee absent from duty by reason of the death of their spouse, domestic partner, parents, children, sisters, brothers, grandparents, grandchildren, father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandparents-in-law, step-children, step-brothers, step-sisters, step- parents, step-grandchildren, step-grandparents and the equivalent relatives of an employee with a domestic partner, shall be allowed no more than three (3) days' time off duty without deduction of pay on account of such absence. For the purpose of 20.1 and its subsections, a day is equal to the employee’s regularly scheduled work shift.
Funeral and Bereavement Leave. 10.2.1 Employees assigned to a forty-hour average work week shall receive one (1) or, if necessary for travel, two (2) shifts off duty with pay as funeral leave in the event of a death of a close relative. The second shift off is applicable only in instances where total travel of 200 miles or more is necessary. The intent of this provision is to provide time off from regularly scheduled duty to attend or make arrangements for a funeral in event of the death of a close relative.

Funeral and Bereavement Leave. (a) An employee shall be allowed at his request up to five (5) work days, with pay, as funeral and bereavement leave for a death of a spouse, son, daughter, parent or parent of spouse. This time shall not be deducted from sick leave.

Funeral and Bereavement Leave. 24.1 Funeral leave as provided herein is expressly for periods of bereavement and/or attending the funeral of a family member or relative. Funeral leave shall be provided in the amount specified below with the term "day" equal to the employee's assigned hours for that specific day excluding overtime.
