Fragmented Vacation. Vacation will be scheduled in accordance with normal procedure. Any or all of an employee’s vacation entitlement may be requested in portions of one or more whole days, subject to all the provisions of this paragraph. Upon the first such request, the employee must designate which prescheduled week or weeks are to be fragmented. Fragmented vacation may be taken in one hour increments. The employee’s request must be made with reasonable advance notice. The first line supervisor will have absolute discretion to approve or disapprove such request and his or her decision will not be subject to challenge in the Grievance Procedure or Arbitration. In no case will such request be granted if, in the opinion of the Company, it is necessary to provide relief at premium or overtime rates. Fragmented vacation taken by an employee will count as time worked in determining if an employee is to be compensated at time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) within the applicable payroll week.

Fragmented Vacation a. Vacations will be scheduled in accordance with the normal procedure. Any or all of an employee’s vacation entitlement may be requested in portions of one (1) or more whole days. Fragmented vacation eligibility may be taken in one-hour increments, subject to all the provisions of this section. When first making such a request, the employee must designate which prescheduled week or weeks are to be fragmented. These cannot be subsequently changed; that is, any remaining vacation days must be executed during the prescheduled weeks. The employee’s request for vacation must be made with reasonable advance notice.
Fragmented Vacation. Vacation will be scheduled in accordance with normal procedure. Any and all portions of an employee’s vacation entitlement may be requested and granted in portions of 4, 8, and 12-hour increments. Up to twenty (20) hours may be requested and granted in portions of two (2) hour increments. It is understood that the pay provision as outlined in Article VI, Section 2 (l) will not be applicable for an employee who volunteers or is required to back fill two hour increments of vacation. The first line supervisor will have absolute discretion to approve or disapprove such request and his/her decision will not be subject to the grievance procedure or arbitration. At no time will fragmented vacation be granted if operational needs are not met.

  • Paid Vacation Except as otherwise provided in this Article, paid vacation shall be granted no longer than the fiscal year immediately following the fiscal year in which it is earned.

  • Banked Vacation Once every five years an employee may bank one full year's vacation to be taken in conjunction with the next year's vacation. For the purposes of this clause, all vacation in the second year must be taken concurrently.

  • Weeks Vacation Subject to Article 17.08 and Article 17.01 (a) (ii), employees shall be entitled to take five (5) weeks vacation leave with pay during the first and subsequent complete fiscal years following the date in which they complete fourteen (14) years of service.   • Split Vacations Where an employee wishes to split her vacation, her second choice of vacation time shall be made only after all other employees concerned have made their initial selection.

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • Prime Time Vacation Period Subject to the provisions of this article, it is the intent of the parties that no employee will be restricted in the time of year they choose to take their vacation. The Employer will make every effort to allow employees to take their vacation during the period of April 15th to October 15th inclusive, which will be defined as the prime time vacation period.
