Common use of Formal Meetings Clause in Contracts

Formal Meetings. In accordance with 5 U.S.C. § 7114(a)(2), the Union will be given the opportunity to be represented at formal meetings between the Employer and bargaining unit employees concerning grievances, changes in personnel policies and practices, or other matters that affect conditions of employment. Normally, the Union will be given at least two (2) business days’ notice of any formal meeting and the topics to be discussed. The Employer will permit the Union representative to participate in an orderly manner, to ask questions, and to present a brief statement related to the subject matter addressed at the meeting before the end of the meeting outlining the Union’s position concerning the issues. The Employer retains the sole authority to summarize and terminate the meeting.
