Formal Classroom Observation a. Each scheduled formal classroom observation will be conducted openly by the evaluator and with full knowledge of the teacher. Results of any formal classroom observation will be in writing with a copy to be given to the teacher no later than the business day prior to any meeting with an administrator.

Formal Classroom Observation. The Adjunct has a right to a regular, fair and consistent formal evaluation process. A formal classroom observation shall be used to evaluate an Adjunct’s performance and effectiveness as an instructor. Formal classroom observations may be conducted by the Department Chairperson, a tenured faculty member, Xxxx, Director, coordinator, or Vice President. Under no circumstances shall bargaining unit members evaluate each other. Individuals designated to perform formal classroom observations must receive training prior to conducting such observations. The Adjunct shall be notified in writing two weeks in advance of the intent to evaluate. Written notification may be made by email. Time and place shall be mutually agreed upon by the Adjunct and person conducting the observation. Classroom observations will be conducted annually. Each classroom observation will be a minimum of 50 minutes in duration. In addition to the evaluations set forth above, the Department Chairperson may elect to conduct additional formal classroom observation evaluations of any Adjunct Faculty member as follow up to evident performance and/or conduct deficiencies. Following the completion of the written observation, the Department Chairperson, tenured faculty member, Xxxx, Director, coordinator, or Vice President shall meet with the Adjunct Faculty member to review the observation. Observation feedback shall be individualized. The form in Appendix A will be used for formal classroom observations. The form used for classroom observations will continue to be the same as the form used by full time faculty members. Modifications to this form shall be made to better suit instructional areas as mutually agreed upon by the College and Union. Copies of the completed classroom observation form will be provided to the observer, Adjunct Faculty member, Department Chair (Director as appropriate), and Xxxx. DAEL classroom observation forms will comply with program needs and meet ICCB and DOE requirements.

  • Classroom Observation Classroom observations shall be conducted at least once for all unit members who have not met the threshold for reappointment as defined in Section 10.02 of Article10. Effective fall 2006 classroom observations shall be conducted on DCE form E3. Classroom observations may be conducted for any unit member, at the discretion of the President of the College, or designee thereof, for stated written reasons. Results of said observation shall be communicated to the unit member in writing. The unit member shall be afforded the opportunity to discuss the classroom observation with the evaluator and to respond in writing.

  • Formal Observation The instructional employee and the principal/administrator shall review using the mid-year Reflection Questions in the evaluation manual – Student Achievement Outcomes and make adjustments as needed to increase the likelihood of a positive goal outcome.
