FLOAT SHIFT Sample Clauses

FLOAT SHIFT. When a work schedule consisting of twelve (12) hour workdays is implemented the use of a float shift is added to the schedule. The float shift is assigned as an additional shift. The float shift is a flexible shift to be adjusted to accommodate the absences in the other scheduled shifts such as; Vacation, Personal, & Sick hours used by other Members. The float shift will also be changed to accommodate training and event coverage.

FLOAT SHIFT. A. The Float shift shall consist of one Lieutenant, one Apparatus Engineer, one Firefighter and one Paramedic. Personnel may volunteer for the floating shift on a seniority basis. In the event there are not enough volunteers, the least senior non-probationary employee in each classification will be assigned. Management reserves the right to assign personnel as may be necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the department. This is inclusive of, but not limited to: Hazmat, scuba, tech rescue or any other specific skills or abilities an employee may possess.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Day Shift The standard work day will consist of eight (8) hours worked between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with a designated thirty (30) minute lunch period. Starting and stopping times to be determined by mutual agreement between the Company and the shop employees.

  • Broken Shifts (a) An employee may agree to work broken shifts at any time; however an employee may be required to work broken shifts in the following circumstances:

  • Rotating Shifts Nurses required to work rotating shifts (days, evenings and nights) shall be scheduled in such a way as to equitably as possible assign the rotation. This does not preclude a Nurse from being continuously assigned to an evening or night shift if the Nurse and the Employer mutually agree to such an arrangement.

  • Shift A full-time shift shall normally consist of a nine (9) consecutive hour time period, determined by the University, of which one hour shall be used for a lunch period without compensation. A one-half hour lunch period may be substituted for the one hour lunch period with prior approval of the supervisor. With the approval of their supervisor and the Human Resources Office, schedules of less than forty (40) hours per week or a shift change may be elected by staff members.
