Fixed Term Appointment. (a) An employee and an employer may agree that the employment of the employee will end:
Fixed Term Appointment. ASF Members appointed to a fixed-term appointment as provided in Article 10, Section A, Subd. 1, shall be credited upon initial appointment with one (1) day of sick leave for each month of anticipated service. For purposes of this paragraph, if an ASF Member is initially hired to work one or more days during a calendar month, then that shall be deemed to be a month of anticipated service. If a Fixed-term appointment is extended beyond the initial period of anticipated service, the individual will earn four (4) additional hours of sick leave for each succeeding pay period of full time service.
Fixed Term Appointment. A fixed-term appointment is faculty employment pursuant to Article 21, Section E, Subd. 1. Fixed-term employment terminates at the end of the appointment period and carries no implication for future employment.
Fixed Term Appointment. 4.11.1 The Board shall make available and make every effort to fill a total of 25 fixed-term appointments across the University. Fixed-term appointments shall be collectively allocated by Deans in consideration of discipline/department needs and abilities to sustain them. These appointments shall be for contract Employees who normally teach 384 or more SICH across the University annually (including the Spring semester), 144 or more of which are in the Fall semester.
Fixed Term Appointment. (a) A fixed-term appointment is an appointment for a specified term or ascertainable period for which the appointment has specific starting and finishing dates upon which the term of the employment will expire (or instead of a finishing date, will specify the circumstances or contingency relating to a specific task or project, upon the occurrence of which the term of the employment will expire). The use of fixed-term appointments is limited to the appointment of a staff member engaged in accordance with clause 2.6 or for work activity that comes within the description of one or more of the following circumstances:

Fixed Term Appointment a. Relinquishing Three-year Extendable Appointment The faculty member is issued a fixed-term appointment at their current FTE for the remainder of his/her three-year appointment. At the faculty member’s request, the termination date for the fixed term appointment may be earlier than the termination date of the three-year appointment.
