First Shift. An employee assigned to work on a shift beginning between the hours of 5:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. will be considered to be on first (1st) shift.

Seniority people will be given preference as to hours of work. If, on a voluntary basis, departmental staffing requirements are not met, management will fill the positions with low seniority employees from the areas. On the first shift where a holiday falls on a Friday one (1) hour off for lunch shall be granted on the immediate preceding workday. On the second shift where a holiday falls on Friday the quitting time shall be 12:00
First Shift. Regularly scheduled hours of work Monday to Friday inclusive shall be paid at straight time hourly rates.
First Shift. Employees who report for jury duty during the morning will not be required to report for work on that morning. However, if they are excused from jury service prior to the beginning of the last three and one-half (3-1/2) hours of their normally scheduled shift on a day they serve, they will be required to report to work as soon as feasibly possible, or within two (2) hours from the time they are excused from jury service on a given day of service. If they do not return to work when excused before the last three and one-half (3-1/2) hours of their normally scheduled shift, they will be paid only the difference in working rate and jury duty pay for those hours from the beginning of their regular shift to the time they are excused from jury duty. Employees who return to work on a day of jury service, as above, will receive eight (8) hours at working rate less jury duty pay. Employees serving into the last three and one-half (3-1/2) hours of their normally scheduled shift on the jury, on a day of jury service, will not be requested to report to work after being excused from jury service on that day. They will be paid eight (8) hours at working rate less jury pay for wages lost due to such absence in a regular eight (8) hour shift, in line with the above agreement. Employees who are requested to report to jury duty during the afternoon will report to work at their regular first shift starting time. Such employees will be excused from work two (2) hours prior to the time they are scheduled to report for jury duty. Employees complying with this provision will be eligible to receive eight (8) hours of pay at their working rate less jury duty pay.
First Shift. Effective July 1, 2001, a shift differential of two dollars and fifteen cents ($2.15) per hour shall be paid for all time worked on the first (1st) shift (i.e., the night shift, 2300 hours to 0700 hours) to each employee specifically assigned to work the first (1st) shift. Effective the first full pay period beginning on or after July 1, 2015, the first shift differential shall be increased to two dollars and sixty cents ($2.60) per hour.
