Fire Inspector. Fire Inspectors shall receive specialist pay in the amount of five percent (5%) of base pay. This section shall be eliminated for Fire Inspectors hired after May 1, 2012.

Fire Inspector. 1. All candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience with SFFR.
Fire Inspector. All employees of the Fire Department with at least five (5) years of full time service will be entitled to take the examination for Fire Inspector. If a vacancy occurs in that position, the person with the highest passing score on the most recent examination held within a period of two (2) years next preceding the date of appointment, and who is willing to accept appointment, shall be appointed Fire Inspector. The Fire Inspector shall be entitled to take the examination for the positions of Fire Marshal and the next promotional step above the position held prior to appointment as Fire Inspector. Fire Inspectors shall become State of Michigan Certified Fire Inspector, under the rules adopted by the Michigan Fire Fighters Training Council, and shall be required to maintain that certification. Except as modified by this Agreement, the provisions of 1935 P.A. 78 (MCLA 38.501 et seq.) shall apply.
Fire Inspector. All applicants for the rank of Fire Inspector must be able to speak to an audience and be willing to teach. All applicants for the rank of Fire Inspector will be deemed eligible upon successful completion and certification of NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level 1 and NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor 1 (It is noted that the Fire Protection Technology Course would be acceptable). In addition, upon promotion, the new Fire Inspector will register in the Fire Prevention Officer Program at the Fire College and successfully pass. When a second posting is required to fill the position, that successful applicant will be required to attend and pass the Fire Prevention courses as per the first appointee. The applicant shall comply with 8.01(a).

Fire Inspector. Investigator Premium Pay‌ Fire Inspector and Assistant Fire Marshals assigned to Fire Inspector/Investigator duty shall receive Fire Inspector/Investigator Premium Pay as follows: Fire Inspector: $481.28 for the seven (7) day assignment as Fire Inspector/Investigator. Assistant Fire Marshal: $632.32 for the seven (7) day assignment as Assistant Fire Marshal/ Investigator.
Fire Inspector. The Department shall continue to have the right to assign employees to the Fire Prevention Bureau, and to determine the number of employees assigned. A member that is assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau and has the duties of Fire Inspector will receive a payment of $1000.00 per year for the first 36 months as a Fire Inspector and $2,000.00 thereafter per year as a Fire Inspector (For Fire Inspectors as of April 27, 2012 will include prior time served as a Fire Inspector). This payment shall be made in two installments, one in the last pay period in January, and one in the last pay period in August of each year. This bonus will be prorated if the entire six months is not spent as a Fire Inspector.
