Filling of Vacancy. An incumbent filling any position temporarily vacated as a result of job sharing will be covered by the collective agreement.
Filling of Vacancy. Insofar as practicable and consistent with the best interests of the service, all vacancies in the competitive service shall be filled by promotion from within the competitive service, after a promotional examination has been given and a promotion list established. Consistent with City of Berkeley Personnel Rules, each candidate for promotion must be either a permanent employee in the competitive service or a former permanent employee on an active mandatory layoff Reemployment List and must possess the minimum qualifications as set forth in the specifications of the class to which promotion is sought. The right to compete in a promotional examination in a specific classification series is not limited to employees in the bargaining unit.
Filling of Vacancy. The qualified senior nurse within a defined nursing unit who applies for the vacancy in the first seven (7) days of posting will be offered the position, provided that such nurse has the required skill and ability to perform the position at the time such position is assumed. If no nurse within the relevant defined nursing unit is qualified for or bids on the position, the Hospital will offer the position to the most senior qualified nurse within the Hospital who applies for the position in the first seven (7) days of posting.
Filling of Vacancy. 6.01 The major responsibilities and qualifications of each occupational index by class listed in Appendix B of the Agreement are identified in the Lansing School District's May, 1979 Classification Plan for the Clerical-Secretarial Service and serve as official class specifications. The Board retains the exclusive right to determine and assign the responsibilities, duties and tasks performed by bargaining unit members. In the event the Board intends to significantly alter the major responsibilities of an existing position or create a new position not previously in existence, the Board shall notify the Union fourteen (14) calendar days prior to implementation of such change(s) and provide the Union the opportunity to meet and confer the effect of the change with the Board.
Filling of Vacancy. Any vacancy created by resignation, discharge, retirement, transfer or death during the school year (after July) may be filled by the Administration for a period not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days, whereupon the vacancy will be posted for claim or abolished. Any vacancy created by a leave of absence may be filled by the Administration either with an employee on a "leave fill" basis or with an employee temporarily transferred to the position or a combination thereof. Employees temporarily transferred because of this provision shall retain their classification seniority in their former classification and shall not acquire seniority in the classification to which he/she is transferred.
Filling of Vacancy. In filling a vacancy, the employee signing with the greatest seniority in the department shall be given first consideration. Before a vacancy or new position is filled, the Highway Commissioner and Union representatives shall attempt to mutually agree on the applicant to be selected. If mutual and final agreement is not reached at this point, a grievance may be filed by the Union.
Filling of Vacancy. When a vacancy occurs in the Auburn Police Department, the normal procedure provided for under Civil Service Law shall be used to fill this vacancy.
Filling of Vacancy. The effective date of the promotion shall be as soon as 1 possible, but no later than ninety (90) calendar days after the close of posting or the time the 2 vacancy occurs, whichever is later. Once the selection has been made, the Employer will notify 3 all applicants and the Union President, or his/her designee, of the selection, including name, 4 seniority date, new classification, pay rate and effective date of change of position.
Filling of Vacancy. Step 1 In the event of a vacancy occurring during the school year, the DISTRICT will post a vacancy notice on employee bulletin boards for five (5) work days. A laid-off employee in recall status will be notified by e-mail of any new vacancies. Employee’s wishing to receive this notification must provide the DISTRICT with a personal e-mail address at the time of layoff. Due to mechanisms of the e-mail system these personal addresses cannot be kept confidential by the DISTRICT. If a vacancy occurs during the summer months, notices will be mailed to all permanent employees. An employee may advise the DISTRICT in writing that the employee wishes to be considered for the vacant position, as well as any other vacancy which arises directly as a result of filling the original vacancy; for only vacancies which arise directly as a result of filling the original vacancy, the DISTRICT will not be required to post, or mail, a notice. An employee may not request a position in a job classification from which the employee was involuntarily removed due to job performance within the past three (3) years. Selection
Filling of Vacancy. A position vacated by an employee participating in a job sharing arrangement shall be posted in accordance with the procedures set out in Article 11.
