Filling of Routes after Annual Selection. Routes that become vacant after the annual selection process and prior to April 1 shall be posted and sent electronically to all Transportation employees by 10:00 a.m. on the first Monday following the day the route became vacant (or, if Monday is not a school day, the next school day morning). Routes so posted shall be filled through a live bidding process similar to the process used for Extra Trip Selection process on a classification seniority basis and subject to the bidding process beginning at 9:15 a.m. on the Wednesday morning immediately following the day of posting. This live bidding process will continue for all subsequent vacancies that may occur, with the last vacancy filled by the hiring of a new employee and not the use of a sub. The reassignments as a result of all bidding under this paragraph shall occur within two (2) workdays of the close of the last bidding. A Driver may exercise only two (2) bid moves in a school year after the annual August selection of routes. If a Driver or Transportation Assistant is not going to be at work, for any reason, on the Wednesday of the live bidding process, or is required to be absent because of an extra trip or a Mid-day route, it shall be the Driver’s or Transportation Assistant’s responsibility to provide a signed written statement to the Transportation Supervisor, or designee, and either the Transportation Union Xxxxxxx or Alternate Xxxxxxx, of the Driver’s or Transportation Assistant’s preferences for any vacancies that may occur during the live bidding process.
