Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA is an executive agency with a director reporting directly to the President of the United States. Its National Headquarters is located in Washington, D.C. The responsibility for emergency management is shared jointly by the Federal Government and the States and their political subdivisions. The Federal role is to provide overall guidance and financial and technical assistance to the States and localities. The States and localities have the direct operational role in time of disaster. These services must:  Agree with generally accepted standards of medical practice  Be clinically appropriate in type, frequency, extent, site and duration., They must also be considered effective for the patient’s illness, injury or disease  Not be mostly for the convenience of the patient, physician, or other healthcare provider. They do not cost more than another service or series of services that are at least as likely to produce equivalent therapeutic or diagnostic results for the diagnosis or treatment of that patient’s illness, injury or disease. For these purposes, “generally accepted standards of medical practice” means standards that are based on credible scientific evidence published in peer reviewed medical literature. This published evidence is recognized by the relevant medical community, physician specialty society recommendations and the views of physicians practicing in relevant clinical areas and any other relevant factors. Member Any person covered under this plan. Mental Condition A condition that is listed in the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). This does not include conditions and treatments for chemical dependency. Mental Health Services Medically necessary outpatient and inpatient services provided to treat mental conditions. State and federal law require that the copays and coinsurance for mental health services will be no more than the copays and coinsurance for medical and surgical services.   • National Emergency In cases of national emergency, the Contractor must maintain and support certain systems/ functions considered mission essential. In this event, the Government may require that certain essential personnel report for duty or, may provide support on an on-call or as-needed basis.

  • Medical Care and Emergency Leave An employee is entitled to a leave of absence without pay because of any of the following:

  • Health & Safety Committee The Employer agrees to establish a Health & Safety Committee for all employees of the company under the auspices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The Committee shall be made up of an equal number (not less than one each) of non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit persons who have completed their probationary period. The Union has the right to appoint the members representing the bargaining unit. The Committee shall keep minutes of its meetings and post them in the shop.   • Shared Leave Administration A. The calculation of the recipient’s leave value will be in accordance with applicable Office of Financial Management policies, regulations, and procedures. The leave received will be coded as shared leave and be maintained separately from all other leave balances. All paid leave accrued must be used prior to using shared leave when the employee qualifies for shared leave under 13.2 A.1. Accrued vacation leave and paid military leave allowed under RCW 38.40.060 must be used prior to using shared leave for employees qualified under 13.2 A.2. All paid leave, except sick leave, must be used prior to using shared leave when the employee qualifies for shared leave under 13.2 A.3 and 13.2 A.4.
